soooo...here we are again...weekend herb blogging is back! :))
I do wish you all had a wonderful Christmas time, and that you got happily in the new year!
this week we are hosted by Pam of the Backyard Pizzeria..
and while she delightfully is relaxing on the beach down-under...(this is just envy, my dear)
in this angle of the world..
we are looking at the snow with a silly smile on our face,
yes..we are enyoing!! :)))
I'm just to leave to celebrate a birthday on the snow, and with me I brought some of these
veggie buns.
If you would like to join the WHB, please read here
this is originally an idea of Kalyn's, and now it is hold by Haalo
pam, I hope you will try them, as I read that you are in a kneading period :))
here we go:
for the buns
500gr milk
10gr of fresh yeast
100gr of corn oil
1,100gr of flour*
2 eggs
salt
for the filling
1/2 zucchini
1 carrot
a small piece of pumpkin
one small onion or a piece of leek
50gr of peanuts or walnuts
2 small leaves of celery
chop very tiny and put aside
heat gently the milk and the oil, (not more than 37°) and let the yeast melt in it.
when it is coolen add the eggs and whisk.
add the chopped veggies and mix well.
add all the flour and work for a long time, 20min is needed
add the salt and work for other 5-7min.
put the dough in a bowl, cover and let rise for 12-14hours in a cool place
(if your temperature is between +5° to +15° at night you can leave it outside on the balcony)
(I put my doughs rise in the entrance, f.ex, beacuse here we go down around 0° at night)
the next day take inside the dough and let warm up in room temperature.
form small buns and let rise on a baking tin (with baking paper under)
and let rise for other 2-3hours.
cook in a preheated oven at 200° for 15-20min (it depends how big you make them)

you can use normal flour or even fine semola flour (the one you use to make pasta, but it must be milled very fine)
you can also make herb buns, just add or exchange with the veggies.

the construction in the photo is what you also can do, with these buns :)))

Baci
Now that is one good looking edible sculpture! Your rolls sound wonderful and your friend was very lucky to receive them in honor of his birthday.
Mi fai morire!! Sembra quasi l'atomo di Bruxelles in versione paninesca.
Auguroni a Giuseppe allora.
Un bacione
Alex

buon lunedì a tutti!
@luca&sabrina..sii..avete ragione..sono buoni ovunque..
profumosi e gustosi.
si qui ho usato solo due foglie per non esagerare con il gusto di sedano.
idem per la cipolla..piccola o meglio il porro, più delicato..ma va benissimo anche un piccolo scalogno. poco di tutto così non litigano tra di loro.
